Se c'è una delle più ricche città della Calabria dove mito e bellezza del territorio si incontrano parlare di Reggio Calabria è d’obbligo. La Città sospesa tra il mar Jonio e il Tirreno, teatro di storia, terremoti, ricostruzioni che gli anni hanno resa sempre più bella. Diversi sono i miti che parlano della sua Fondazione e risalgono al 2000 a.C. e diverse sono anche le storie raccontate e tramandate nel tempo che rendono ancora più interessante il nostro viaggio. Noi siamo pronti, e voi? Calabria Eroica Calabria Mitica!! Il Mito di Aschenez la rinascita dopo il diluvio universale. Aschenez pronipote di Noè a cui alcuni attribuiscono l'invenzione della barca a vela si dice che arrivò sulle sponde Di Reggio Calabria quasi tre generazioni dopo il diluvio universale, quando appunto la terra inizia di nuovo ad emergere. Secondo le tradizioni ma anche dalle testimonianze di San Girolamo fu proprio Aschenez a fondare la città. Nasce la colonia degli “Askenazi”che i greci chiamarono Reggini. GIOCASTO Un’altra leggenda è quella del mito di GIOCASTO o Iocasto figlio di EOLO DIO DEI VENTI e CIANE, eroe, fu fondatore della città di Reggio Calabria con il nome di ERYTHRA’ ,in greco la rossa di cui tutt’ora rimane avvolto nel mistero il significato. Il mito di Giocasto probabilmente fu tramandato da uomini Calcinesi e avevano lasciato Eubea città dell'antica Grecia a causa della carestia e che condotti da un oracolo sulle sponde reggine fondarono la città presso la tomba di GIOCASTO morto per il morso di un serpente. Testimonianza di ciò rimane rappresentato nelle monete del V secolo a.C. come un giovane seduto con un bastone e un serpente accanto al braccio e alla schiena. ERACLE Un altro mito importantissimo per la città di Reggio Calabria ci riporta a Eracle O Ercole per i Romani, figlio di Zeus e della regina mortale Alcmena, dalla forza prodigiosa, pare che durante una delle sue 12 fatiche (le leggendarie fatiche di Ercole) di ritorno dall’Ibera con i buoi conquistati a Gerione uno di questi, finito in mare, proprio nei pressi dello stretto, costringe l’eroe a gettarsi in mare per recuperarlo. Ercole ormai stanco dal viaggio, si riposa sulle sponde Reggine dove chiede a Zeus, infastidito dal canto delle cicale di zittirle. O ancora lo Vediamo Battersi e uccidere il Mostro Scilla ( ne avevamo parlato ricordate) e permettere cosi ai coloni di sostare e fondare presso le coste Reggine i propri insediamenti marittimi. I CALCIDESI Un’ altra ancora è importantissima, come abbiamo già accennato sopra e la fondazione per mano dei Calcidesi che guidati dall’oracolo di Delfi attorno al 760 a.C. fondarono la colonia di Reghion. Il termine viene riferito nelle fonti antiche al verbo greco reghnümi che significa rompere, spezzare, in ricordo della scissione geologica della Sicilia dalla Calabria. "Là nel punto in cui l'Apsias, il più sacro dei fiumi, si getta in mare, dove troverai una femmina avvinghiata ad un maschio, il dio ti concede la terra ausonia." Oracolo di Delfi. Quando i Calcidesi si fermarono alla foce del fiume Apsìas (l'attuale fiumara Calopinace), avendo intravisto una vite avvinghiata ad un fico selvatico nella località denominata Pallantion (l'attuale zona "fortino a mare" o "tempietto"), decisero di stabilirsi dunque in quel luogo, fondando la prima città (polis) greca in Calabria. L'antica foce del Calopinace con il promontorio di Punta Calamizzi che si protendeva verso la Sicilia, ispirò a Tucidide ( figlio di Oloro, storico e militare Ateniese) la definizione di Reggio quale estremo capo d'Italia. Per Oggi il nostro “mitico” viaggio finisce qui, ma vi assicuriamo che ancora su Reggio Calabria Abbiamo tanto da raccontare…..quindi….. To be continued………….. We are ready, and you? Calabria Eroica Calabria Mythic! The Myth of Aschenez the rebirth after the universal flood. Aschenez great-grandson of Noah to whom some attribute the invention of the sailboat is said to have arrived on the shores of Reggio Calabria almost three generations after the universal flood, when precisely the earth begins to emerge again. Hercules now tired from the trip, rests on the shores Regine where he asks Zeus, annoyed by the song of cicadas to shut them up. The ancient mouth of Calopinace with the promontory of Punta Calamizzi that stretched towards Sicily, inspired Thucydides (son of Oloro, historian and military Athenian) the definition of Reggio as the extreme head of Italy.
